What is the gold spot price?
The spot price is a market reference for gold. Retail buyers generally pay more than spot for coins and bars because fabrication, distribution, dealer margin, payment costs and product availability can affect the final price.
Why dealer prices differ
Two dealers can quote different prices for the same amount of gold because premiums and buy/sell spreads vary. Compare the total cost per unit of pure gold rather than relying only on an advertised premium.
Live-data source
Gold Compass World uses Metals-API as the configured market-data provider. The website requests data through a server-side endpoint so the API credential does not need to be exposed in public browser code.
